Our own AI product: an automated storyboarding tool, taken from idea to a beta launch under the MyStoryboarder name.
1The client
MyStoryboarder is a product we built ourselves: an AI-based tool that turns a script or brief into a storyboard automatically, for film, advertising and UX teams who need to visualise ideas quickly.
2The challenge
Generative image models made automated storyboarding possible, but a useful product needed consistent characters and scenes, an interface that non-designers could use and a sustainable cost per storyboard.
The main objectives were to:
- Prove that current AI models could produce usable, consistent storyboards
- Design a workflow that a writer or producer could use without design skills
- Launch a beta to real users and learn from their behaviour
- Explore a further proof-of-concept AI tool alongside it
3Our approach
We built the product in three phases between 2023 and 2025, prototyping with current image and language models, testing with early users and iterating the workflow. The beta was backed by Amazon and launched to market as MyStoryboarder.com. The experience now informs every AI proof of concept we build for clients.
4The results
MyStoryboarder launched to market in beta and continues to develop. It is the basis of our rapid AI proof of concept service.
