Discovery for a new housing options service

1The client

The department wanted to establish the feasibility of a new housing management system for citizens who need new housing options.

2The challenge

The end-to-end process crossed local authorities, landlords and citizens in difficult circumstances. The team needed a blueprint of that process and the evidence to pass an alpha assessment.

The main objectives were to:

• Assess the feasibility of the new service
• Design the service blueprint for tracking the end-to-end process
• Work in the open with researchers, product managers, interaction and content designers
• Get the project through its GDS Alpha assessment

3Our approach

We designed the service blueprint for the end-to-end process and worked in an agile, open team with researchers, product managers, interaction designers and content designers to prepare the evidence for assessment.

4The results

The project passed its GDS Alpha assessment and was scoped for a beta development phase. Engagement ran in June and July 2021.
